Hen House Quilt-Learning Applique Class - August & September 2026

Learn to do fun simple way to applique with Pumpkin as we create a fun scappy Quilt. Pumpkin will also be teaching how to properly put borders on your Quilt so your quilt will be squared up. (Your longarm quilter will love you for it!) This Class is for a confident beginner and knowledge of how to use sewing machine.

Finished Quilt top measures 66.5 " x 82.5"

Supplies needed on the day of class:
- Plastic template sheet to make pattern (can be purchased in store)
- fine point sharpie
- Sew in interfacing (can be purchased in store) **VERY important
- Sewing machine (don't forget your pedal and cord)
- Matching Thread & bobbin
- 1/4" foot & open toe foot
- Rotary cutter & mat (can be purchased in store).
- Ruler (can be purchased in store).
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- Some like to bring a small cutting mat to keep at their desk.
- Cushion (for height & comfort)

Other supplies needed:

Assorted scrap fabrics for chickens and sashing

3/8 yd for applique eggs (light background fabric)

1/2 yd for background fabric for egg block (gray suggested)

5/8 yd for small border #1 around assembled blocks and washing (red suggested)

2/3 yd for border around each applique chicken block (gray suggested)

1 1/2 yd for outer border of Quilt (gray suggested)

2 1/3 yds for background of applique chicken and for sashing borders ( light color suggested - like chicken wire print)
